2021-22 Club Offerings 

 

* Be sure that you are already a LME PTA member prior to registering for a club. To register for a club, log in to lmepta.org, click on Store, then select the desired club option.  At the end of the registration form, be sure to click on all of the required Submit buttons.  Your registration is NOT complete until you receive an email confirmation/receipt from Laurel Mountain PTA.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • You DO need to have an account set up for our website, lmepta.org
  • You DO need to be a PTA member to register for clubs.  You can purchase a membership in our Store.
  • VIRTUAL STUDENTS-  We will hold 5 spots for virtual students in each of our virtual clubs. If you are virtual, DO NOT REGISTER on the PTA website, Doriane will send a separate form to you on Sunday at 3pm and then we will invite you to register on the PTA site later in the week. You must be a PTA member to join a club.
  • Registration for Clubs will open October 3rd at 6:00 pm. Click HERE to be directed to the Store.
  • Clubs will NOT meet on holidays or when the school is closed.

Description:

Mathematics Pentathlon® is a national program that supports interactive problem-solving, strengthens basic math concepts and skills, aligns with STEM and National and State Mathematics Standards, stimulates creative thinking and integrates spatial, computational and logical reasoning skills. Mathematics Pentathlon website www.mathpenthat.org

 

The Mathematics Pentathlon is a program of interactive problem-solving games, supportive curricular and instructional activities, and assessment tools for students in grades K-7. This motivational program strengthens basic math concepts and skills, aligns with National and State Mathematics Standards, and stimulates creative thinking while developing problem-solving skills. A focus on conceptual understanding and the integration of spatial, computational and logical reasoning are key attributes of Mathematics Pentathlon. By using specially designed games and activities that differentiate instruction, ALL students of varying abilities and learning styles are motivated to enjoy math and spend more time learning this subject matter. These factors are critical in improving students’ performance in math.

Description:

Three Math Clubs will be offered with Kangaroo Math being an individual challenge given to students to complete weekly (K-2), Math League has an optional competition students can take part in and more advanced problem solving(3-5), and Math Olympiad is a competitive math coaching and competition (mostly 4th and 5th grade) All clubs are fully virtual.
