Screentime & Social Media Family Planning Talk

Join us on Wednesday May 15th at 6 pm after our short 20 minute PTA meeting where we will hear from three Child and Adolescent Health experts who will share knowledge, tips and tricks for screen-time and social media management.

Do you ever wonder...

How much screen time should I let my kids have? Is school work considered screen time? Is there good and bad screen usage? What about social media? How do I teach my kids about responsible internet and social media use? How do I monitor their usage while respecting their privacy?

These are questions we all struggle to answer as we raise our children in an increasingly digital world. The LME PTA is proud to host a presentation with medical and industry experts to discuss how screen usage affects our children during various developmental stages, the importance of teaching our children responsible use practices, dangers of inappropriate or excessive digital media on social emotional development and how to create a Family Action Plan to promote safe and appropriate internet and social media use.

Dr. Diem Pham and Dr. Azka Bilal both Psychiatrists specializing in Child and Adolescent Health along with Frances Lopez a PhD candidate in Learning Technologies at the University of Texas will be leading the discussion at our last PTA General Board Meeting on Wednesday May 15, 2024 starting at 6 pm. These clinical experts will share relevant information and research to help answer critical questions and concerns pertaining to safe, responsible digital and social media use and teach us how to formulate a plan to implement within our homes and family structures.

We hope you can join us for this important discussion! (Kids 10+ welcome)
